Aircel 3G rolls out new plans

64203642.gif

About 3 years back Aircel revolutionized the 2G internet area with releasing pocket internet packs which made it much easier for the end consumer to use 2G net on their mobiles. Pocket Internet was very handy as the consumer could buy a Rs. 5 internet pack which one could use for one day, with a limit of 50 MB.

Now Aircel are trying to do something similar, but in the 3G area. They have launched similar plans as they did for 2G a few years back with the object to increase their consumer base.

All of the new Aircel plans are unlimited (with Fair Usage Policy though, after the FUP speeds reduce to 128kb/ps), and much more affordable than before. There are no extra hidden charges. All plans are with tax included. To many the new plans will be better than the 2G plans.

Detailing of the new plans :

For more details call Aircel customer care 121 from your Aircel mobile.

I personally feel these plans are not bad, but they're not too good either. Also Aircel certainly doesn't have the best network coverage in India. Where i live (Calcutta/Howrah) Aircel is not very reliable. We really need a price war to start between all the telecom companies to bring the 3G price further lower.

A humble request. Do not reproduce articles from Telecomtalk. They are biggest idiots available on the web and they do send Copyright notice to the administrators of the forum asking it to remove.

Still the content is same thing. I'm sure they would send an copyright notice Write the same thing in your own words or take it from fonearena.

I have written the whole thing myself, so i am not understanding what you are saying

Changed the source to the official Aircel Website.

Are they really that bad? I have subscribed to their RSS and am a frequent visitor to their site. Few weeks back I had read that had put the site up for sale. But they are still running the show.

On topic: Hopefully this starts a 3G pricing revolution of sorts in India. I wouldn't mind switching to a provider offering me 1 GB at 200 bucks in Mumbai.

I got a Vodafone 3G sim, only for 200 bucks with 2 GB usage. Speeds are more than 6 mb/ps consistently. The only bad part is this is a use and throw sim as to say cause i have to get a new sim every month and the sim is useless after a month.

Airtel has the same plans. What's new in this?

I've been on RC200 for 500MB 30days for quite a while now.

^ and also after 1GB data, only speed will be reduced to 128 Kbps, no charge will be deducted
<
But in airtel or other operators, for such recharges, once data is get over, it will be charged from main balance
<

On paper it looks good but after 3G a person is more likely to do REC again to get back mbps speeds rather than make do with 128kbps.

^^Still, 1 GB for 198 is a very sweet deal. I will take such an offer without a thought if/when it comes on Idea/Airtel/Vodafone!

Well , I am on airtel and if they offer 1GB for 198 , I will gladly take it . If I consume that in 10 days I would rather have 120 for 10days rather than recharge again.

This should really start a price war very soon! It's a very good time to wait and watch

actually its excellent deal, without any additional charges... Aircel 3G is excellent at least in Bangalore & Tamilnadu!

can anyone confirm on the quality of service, both signal reception and internet of Aircel in hyderabad??

Also, when will this offer be available in the market?
