Does somebody know how to check the data usage and how the billing for 2 GB is done?

If I check via "unb" to 121 will it take the 2GB free usage into acc. or only at the time of billing?

The reason I'm asking is because I activated this plan on 11th or 12th and within one week my unbilled charges are close to 3 times what I normally get ???

Any ideas? Will stopping the plan now create additional billing problems ?

TIA.

what platform are you usuing the internet pack for? I too have the same pack for a nearly 1.5 years on airtel post paid but have never excedeed the limit. I use it extensively to surf T.E. ,fb etc. And my push mail on my N97 mini. I sometimes use this connection for my lappy too if i have some urgent work to send on email when the BB is down(though this would be very less...anyways speed on a lappy would be pathetic)and have never exceded the data limit!
on second thoughts... I hope you have set the access point to Mobile Office, if Airtel gprs is selected you will be billed for every kb of up and down data! Why dont you call up the CC for clarifications.

mobile office? the tech guy very specifically said airtel gprs. I'm sure I'm not using airtel Live though, deleted the APN and selected the settings sent by CC guy.

called CC yesterday they said the same thing, airtel gprs should be selected. And that 2GB worth of charge will be deducted from the final bill. Is this normal?ideas?

edit: using it for phone only, have an airtel BB ( wifi )at home so GPRS isn't used when at home.

^^In post paid he wont i guess. It is only for prepaid people.

@OP

Use the APN airtelgprs.com which is full internet also known as Mobile office by Failtel.

Use mobile office. DOn't you get a notification of usage when you stop using the internet?
OP is using postpaid connection. We prepaid people get that irritating balance thing. :@

There is no provision of notifications for data usage in Postpaid. But I can monitor voice call usage + gprs usage as one.

As long as the APN settings say airtelgprs.com you can use MO or Airtel Gprs or rename it (acc to CC)

But I still cannot understand how the unbilled amount is coming up as 4000+ for 15 days. I am very confident it should not be that much. Postpaid guys, help?

Yes I'm using that APN.

My bro-in-law is using a post-paid Airtel connection with the 2GB recharge.

They bill all the kbs and discount it later. You'll be charged for any data exceeding 2GB. But confirm what this with CC first so that you don't get a nasty surprise later.

Dont worry. i use the same plan and the usage gets discounted at the end. Wouldnt really bother about crossing the limit unless your unbilled GPRS usage crosses Rs.12000

Yeah that's what I figured by calculating 2GB worth of data charges at 30p for 50KB. Let's see thanks for replying.

@ The rest..those codes are for prepaid only doesn't work on Postpaid

i have also getting unbilled amount of nearly Rs 4000+(still continuing with charges increased per session of use) for about last1 month since i got my new moto defy...i am also on Airtel 2g edge postpaid connection & my apn point is also airtelgprs & my phone's data manager is showing abt 1 gb+ usage?...now i had been using airtel gprs(mobile office as on my n73) for the last 1 yr on my nokia N73 & as per experience,i got notification of high unbilled amt, which was duly deducted in the final bill amount payable(all data charges restricted to within rs.99 only)...but the thing is that, unlike this time,my data usage on airtel has never been so hefty, nor the unbilled amt had been so much on top.So without a proper data usage checking point from airtel, i have only my phone's data usage count to solely rely on....Now have i got anythiing to fear or is that all misapprehension as poster raymasky says & i also previously found!
