Airtel 256UL to 2MB 6GB?

Hi Guys, I have been on Airtel 256UL since forever at 900pm. Now I am considering 'upgrading' to 2MB with 6GB limit at 999pm. I am not sure of my usage but I think I may have exceeded 6GB only once or twice when I downloaded Leopard.iso at 4.5GB.

Apart from that my usual usage is surfing, some 'ahem' 200-300mb torrents maybe a couple of times a week. I do have some active periods when I am downloading lots of stuff for instance Linux kernels, software, Windows drivers, software and other things. But since I have not been tracking my usage I am not sure of my average monthly usage. What do you guys say, If I want to return to 256ul I will have to pay 99 extra per month since I am on 900pm currently.

all other threads on the forum are saying tht airtel now has 256ultd@750/- nd 384ultd@999/-

atleast its confirmed in the south.

call up ur cc and confirm whether same is happening wherever u stay....
 
Nop 384Ul is not available in Pune, no double speeds at night either which are available in some circles.

Ps. Taking into account every 300mb torrent download is equal to 600mb at least including uploads I maybe crossing 6GB routinely. That Leopard iso download and upload will probably add up to 9gb. hmnn... have to rethink this.
 
Yup, was momentarily tempted, imagine downloading a 4.5gb iso at 256kpbs, that's seriously frustrating. But this 6Gb is probably not going to workout, have to change my internet usage habits and such. Need peace of mind, plan junked.

yeah, us Maharashtra Airtel users really don't get much to be excited about. No plan upgrades, no random "speed boosts", no night double speeds.
 
stick to an UL plan m8, its not worth exceeding it and getting hit with a hefty bill
 
Don't you have some kind of night unlimited in the 2mbps plan?

like BSNL offers 2AM to 8 AM free download @ 2MBPS @ 500 bucks...
I download 4Gb per day with the same...:ohyeah:

If u get night unlimited then go for 2MbPS....else forget..... unlimited is way better.... as we tend to give in to download temptations.....

I had a friend who ended u paying 21000 bucks to bsnl ppl as he did not track his downloads properly.... 2MBPS can be risky as I gb is done in an hour....

If someone clicks some direct download by mistake while u are away...u r dead:bleh:
 
I wonder why Airtel Maharashtra doesn't offer us any schemes, also the plans are more expensive or slower than other circles. Not fair. Airtel was supposed to be the big hope at least leading the segment but over the last 2 years they are seriously lagging and inactive, cmon how long am i supposed to pay 1000 plus for 256kpbs.

i will now proceed to bite my tongue, on Airtel 256UL plan in Pune (999pm)

last 3 days, this is the speed im getting.

and yes LOL at the upload speeds.

You cannot be serious, you lucky dog. I have never ever experienced anything remotely exceeding 34kpbs from Airtel in 3 years plus. Enjoy.
