Hello,

From past five months I facing this problem, connection disconnects from the server and I have to reset my modem (Beetel 110BX1, I have tried 220BX too) if I will not open any web site for an hour (Only utorrent running). Any solution to keep my connection alive.

you where thinking that after facing this problem for five months I am posting this to you guys, but I have a solution, I use Reloadevery mozilla plugin and keep two three pages open for whole night.

I have used some tools too like Keep Alive 1.01 and Connection Keeper 9.1 but no help.

Please share your knowledge on this topic.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, Airtel tect support guy came and checked modem setting and just made one change MTU 1400.

Then again I raised a ticket, he came again and waited for 1 hour but that day it didn't happed and he told me that all the setting is proper this is some server related issue.

i had the same issue with airtel.... raised the ticket several times... but the error couldnt be reproduced in front of the tech guy... finally i threw my airtel connection away... switched to BSNL... i searched internet far and wide for a solution to this problem by couldnt find any... wish u better luck than me at resolving it...

Thanks shank21101985, but I already got the Temp solution for this problem "Reloadevery mozilla plugin", just want the permanent fix to resolve it. :)

when it happened to me, my utorrent also stopped downloading... so the internet was rendered totally useless... in ur case its definitely a mozilla issue... did u try other browsers??

Nope, this is not a browser issue, I read about this problem when I will not ping to any site ISP (Airtel) disconnects thinking I am inactive, even for me utorrent also stopped downloading.

And I have to reset my modem for again accessing the Internet.

Check your utorrent settings...maybe they're too aggressive and are causing your modem to hang.

Try using the internet without utorrent on, and see if your connection still dies.

Use a network monitoring program such as bandwidth monitor, and create connection log, so the next time an airtel service tech comes to your house you can show him exactly what the problem is. And once he fixes the problem, don't let him close the ticket for atleast another 4-6 hrs. Create a connection log, and tell him to call you back in a few hours to check if the problem has been resolved.

btw- which OS/firewall/AV are you using?

Windows 7 by defaults applies a power saving feature on your network card that disables it when network is idle,. you should disable this in your device manager > network adapters.

It also has another option enabled by default that terminates network after a brief idle time, the option to disable this is somewhere in network settings, google for it. :p

Good luck with resolving the problem.

It is not the problem with any of the Internet downloaders.....something with the H/W itself.....i had problems with my ethernet card....so i changed to the USB mode....but since then i am also facing the same problem....i modified the power options for the adapter but nothing happens...

any suggestions??

Windows 7 power saving feature is disabled.

terminates network after a brief idle time: in Internet Options is disabled.

For H/M problem I tried the connection on my Dell XPS, Compaq presario c700 and PC all having different OS XP, Vista and Win 7.

AV: Avast

How about getting a third party modem and using that....

I used the Airtel provided modem just once ( On the day of the connection ) .... Have been using a modem cum wifi router for my internet for 2 years without any problem....

If you're experiencing the same problem with different machines, and with different modems, then it's got to be something that airtel's doing or a problem with your line.
I've been using an airtel connection since the last 4 yrs, and I haven't faced this issue.
While setting up my connection, the tech guy told me that the modem should be next to the first connection of the phone line. He said if there's an instrument before the modem, I may face disconnection problems.

Anyway, go into your modem settings and copy-paste the info from the dsl status page here. It gives you info about your line strength, etc. While I'm not an expert on that, I'm sure someone here would be able to let you know if everything is in order.

I was facing the same issue in the past and i can assure there isn't any problems with your OS or your computer or with torrent. Its just a matter of few settings of modem. Either google them down or call the techie guy from airtel. He will adjust the modem settings for you and modem will not hang then.

Problem resolved: Modem is the problem bought a new modem and the problem is fixed automatically. :)

Thank you guys.
