Airtel Explorer 1099 OR Swift 1099

I am on Airtel Explorer 1099 - 384kbps day with FUP of 100GB and 1Mbps night unmetered. I had applied for the DELIGHT double your speed offer, in the process have spoken to several uninformed/ignorant/dumb CC reps and have raised a few tickets as well. Now, finally I spoke to a supervisor who knew what he was talking and got to know that, DELIGHT offer is not applicable on plans with different ( day and night ) speeds.

The only way to get this offer is to switch over to Swift 1099 plan which is a 512kbps with FUP of 75GB (both day and night metered) and top it with 100 bucks more to double the speed + 100 free calls.

Now the question is, should I switch over to Swift 1099 and will 75GB be sufficient ? 384 is a pathetic speed even to watch youtube videos.
 
Are you sure that your Explore 1099 has FUP limit.. 'coz in some circles there was none.. Swift 1099 has 100 GB limit..

Also that double speed also has FUP clause in it..

Yes, this is about double speed and I am from Bangalore.

Dont know about other cities but Explore 1099 has FUP limit of 100GB in Bangalore and I was well informed about this when I changed my plan in March 2009. Also the supervisor informed me that Swift 1099 has 75GB limit.
 
^.. I am on Explore 1099 & no FUP... (thank-god).. Swift 1099 in my circle has 100GB limit..

Now that double speed offer also has FUP clause included... I suggest that instead of calling CC you should fire a mail to wecare for your circle (you can get the mail ID from CC) & get details from them..

Its possible that your existing plan may be eligible.

They will also give you a better idea of FUP under double speed...

I am planning to write to them today to get a better picture of the situation. Is the 'wecare' email ad same as Reach Airtel-Customer Support email id ? Found this on the airtel.in care.karnataka(at)airtel.in
 
it should be wecare.karnataka... I guess 'coz in Madhya Pradesh its wecare.mp

Ask CC they can give you the actual ID...

I was in your same situation, and got my plan changed to 1Mbps with the Double Speed offer on the Swift 1099, from my previous Explorer 1099. I would highly recommend this for people like me who surf during the day and download at night. I can finally stream all videos online!

FYI the FUP is applicable for download and upload made during the day time only, of 100 gb.

Thanks slash84 I do the same too, surf during the day and download at night. I am desperate to bump up the speed to 1Mbps as it also comes with 100 free calls, thereby the speed increment would be virtually free:ohyeah:.
Could you just recheck the email you got from the CC after the plan change and confirm that the FUP is applicable only during the day time. The rep told me FUP is applicable day and night, they could be wrong here, like always:S.

And mate which city are you from?
 
would be very much interested if anyone from Chennai can post about this offer(double speed) been using Airtel 1MBps for over 3 years now and would like the double speed if possible... talking to there CC is a nightmare so would rather like to know people who have upgraded already.
 
I got a call back regarding the DELIGHT offer and they said the same thing. It's not applicable for the differential day/night speed plans. This is ridiculous and why aren't these CC reps briefed about this offer? Is this some sort of covert offer that Airtel didn't want to disclose to everyone? :@
 
first of all i heard that this offer is closed on March 5th itself. Are you sure about the existence of this offer now ?

The above statement is crap.I have activated double speed double offer om my swift 1099 plan.Will be getting 1mbps in day and 2mbps in night :ohyeah:

Let me know once it starts. I can fire those reps again. They said it's only available for plans which have constant day/night speed.
