A little more than a month ago i decided to finally upgrade my paltry Airtel 256Kbps UL connection to the Freedom 512Kbps UL plan for Rs.1499/-. What i find very strange is that the FUP has not taken effect?
For this months billing period, i have trafficked a total of 252GB of data(UL+DL). This figure includes the data trafficked between 10pm and 8am for the same cycle. Even if i assume that Airtel is not lying about taking into account the volume of data(UL+DL) trafficked between 10am and 8am for the same billing cycle, the total data volume still crosses the 100GB FUP limit.
Considering my plan, the total data uploaded and downloaded between 10am and 8am is roughly 106GB.
The Math:
1Mbps for 8 hours = 3600MB = 3.52GB
For 30 days(give or take a day) = 3.52*30 = 105.6GB ~ 106GB
Subtracting 106GB from 252GB gives 146GB of data that i have trafficked for a full month.
So does Airtel have an FUP in place or does Airtel enjoy psychologically manipulating their customers?
Again i could be wrong about the entire thing and maybe Airtel isn't implementing the FUP for the 1st month alone in an effort to positively market and promote the new tariff plans.
