Airtel - increase in boradband speed

hi , couple of days back i got a SMS from Airtel stating "broadband speed is upgraded to 1Mbps without additional charges." ooh here we go again these guys always send some stupid SMS .thought I'm not the intended recipient might have received by mistake , didn't care much, resumed my office work..after a hour or so read the message again..i was very anxious, ain't wait no more..... rushed from office to home before office hours(on the side note, I'm a workaholic :devil: )..

reached in 20 min .... powered on my rig ,couldn't wait to see the login screen .

checked with speedtest...

oh hell yeah! my speed is upgraded to 1Mbps.

Previously i was in 256Kbps UL, after Double Speed got 512Kbps UL... now 1Mbps.

yesterday got a mail from Airtel confirming the speed upgrades(see attachment). Did any of u guys got this ... :rofl:

I'm a one happy customer.

just checked with CC, there is no changes in the plan. 1Mbps speed upto 10GB after that 512Kbps for the rest(may be even 256Kbps)...

I'm in value combo plan 799 + tax.That's what the girl in CC told me.
 
this free upgrade is gonna be for just 3 months. This is what was told me by CC. Even my speed doubled and it got activated this month June 2010. Lets see how long this lasts
 
Is anyone getting increased speed in Magic @ Home Plan (IPTV plan for 999)? The airtel website says the broadband speed is this plan is 512kbps but I am still getting 256kbps...:(
 
i got a similar mail too., but FUP is 10 GB just confirmed the same with CC now,. And made a request to CC to close my airtel line, i am movint to either BSNL or reilance
 
i am on the 1699 plan not got upgraded or got a mail from airtel with regards to this .... i am waiting till end of the month then might move to reliance.
 
Today my broadband speed was upgraded from 256kbps to 512kbps. I m on Airtel's Magic @ Home 999. I m really excited but I don't about the FUP in this upgrade. Does anyone has info on this??

 
looks like many are getting free upgrades but the FUP still remains myth / mystery with Airtel.

I just had a chat with a guy from Airtel.He offered me the 1099 1 Mbps plan in which the speed reduces to 256 Kbps after 15 GB usage, to which i refused as i am already on a Connect plan which gives me 500 to 800 Kbps variable speed at 1099 p.m. without any FUP.Now since he is somehow an acquaintance, he assured me that after 1 month of usage he will get it upgraded to 1 Mbps dedicated without FUP after calling up his senior and asking him to make an exception.

I just hope he sticks to his word.So after one month from now i'll be getting 1 Mbps dedicated without FUP for 1099 p.m.:hap2:
