Hi guys,
Im from New Delhi and have been using Airtel for 1.5+ years now. Super happy that I switched from Hathway( would have technical issues 2-3 times a week at the least)
However, for the last few months, I've been having problems with the Airtel connection too. The internet just drops out for some time. I've called the airtel technician a few times and he's replaced the wiring etc. He mentioned that the old modem might be the issue. It's a Binatone DT 820. When I reset my connection(one of the easiest way's to try and fix it), the modem powers off and on, intermittently. Is this a sign of the modem dying?
Next, I called Airtel as I hoped that they would replace the modem for free. Short answer - They're not. They give you a modem for free and only replace it under the warranty period(1 year). The guy said that I could buy a Binatone new version modem from them or I could get one myself.
Can you recommend a modem? Im not familiar with terminologies at all. Looks like I need a standalone modem which is something like ADSL2+.
I also read about DOCSIS 3.0 technology somewhere. I believe that Hathway has upgraded to this. Have Airtel Delhi also done this?
FYI: Im using a standalone TP-LINK Archer C7 (dual band) Wi-Fi router[DOUBLEPOST=1463887744][/DOUBLEPOST]Bump. Any views?
