Airtel Launches 4G services In Banaglore
Bharti Airtel, the country's largest mobile operator by subscribers has launched 4G services in Bangalore on Monday .
Plans - Airtel Has also launched a new tariff plan - BreakFree Ultimate . The plan offers 30GB 4G Data at Rs 2999 per month . Apart from this , the company offers breakfree plan with 6GB 4G data at Rs 999 per month , breakfree max with 9GB data at Rs 1399 and breakfree ultra tariff plan with 18GB data at Rs 1999 monthly rental . All plans will have speed throttled to 128Kbps post FUP .
Smartbytes Packs - Airtel has also launched data packs called Smartbytes for postpaid 4G users through which they can extend their 4G data packs after they exhaust their limit . Airtel will offer Smartbyte packs 3GB, 5GB and 10GB data for Rs 600, Rs 875 and Rs 1500 respectively .
Device Cost - Airtel offers Huawei 4G dongle for Rs 7999 and Indoor Wireless Gateway Huawei B593 which converts 4G LTE connection to Wi-Fi network for Rs 7750 .
Free 4G device - Customers who opt for Rs 1999 plan will get the 4G dongle for free if they opt for 24 month contract . along with a bill discount of Rs 333/bill for the first 24 bill cycles and customers who are on the Rs 2999 will get the 4G dongle for free if they opt for a 12-month contract, along with Rs 666/bill for the first 12 bill cycles.
Compatibility - Airtel is rolling out 4G on LTE TDD mode which is on 2300MHz spectrum .The new 4G services can be used on PC , notebooks etc which support LTE TDD . However , most of the mobile phones with 4G support available in the market today use LTE FDD on 2100MHz specturm , so users cannot use Airtel's 4G services on mobile phones currently .
