I Have 2 ADSL modems
1. D-Link ADSL - GLB 502T -> Ethernet + USB
2. Beetel Yozan Tera100U ADSL USB Modem

I face connectivity issues every once in a while. Line just keeps disconnecting.
It's a bit random.
May happen after every 10mins, 30 mins, 1 hour, 2 hours or even 5 hours.. But this thing is bugging me <big time>. :@

At first I thought It was a problem with my GLB-502T as I've mentioned here.
I've tried thro' both USB as well as ethernet.. but to no avail.

Then I tried using my old sturdy USB Beetel ADSL modem. Still same issue.:@

The Airtel guy got bugged of our complaints, got a big meter one fine day, checked the line and said the power of the line/connection was sturdy enough..

So Is my APC UPS at fault / electricity at the comp room?? :S
I'm pretty much sure It's not a PSU problem as the same was happening even with my old PSU.

Help me out guys. Could a faulty line be causing such problems?

Even iam facing exactly the same problem.I have called airtel CC,they replaced my modem even then my problem is not solved :-(

More Info :

The Airtel guyz were saying it was my comp which was giving the problem and they had maintained that the line was perfect allthrough..
Checked with my dad's laptop and same issue there also ...

Now I'm 100% certain, the issue is with the line... :@
They aren't even owning up.
They squarely blame it on ether
Modem (I've switched two already! ), power in the comp room, PC/OS.
Seriously, this is Deep Sh1t ....

Thinking of migrating to BSNL now...

You call that Micro ??

I've been fighting with those guyz for the past two months.. :(

You know how the feeling is when after paying 1500 bucks for a supposedly 'broadband UNLIMITED' connexion, you don't even get a half decent 56k line ???

I have faced this issue with Airtel intermittently. It's definitely an Airtel issue. Sometimes replacing the mdoem works for a month or so but soon enough it starts again. All 4 lights are on but no connectivity. Its quite random, maybe 5 min, maybe 1 hour and sometimes not at all.

The only way to regain connectivity is to restart the modem. Switching to rasppoe from xp pppoe has helped somewhat, but its still there.

they are having problems in the back end thats what the local fellow who comes to check my stuff told me when i called hi directly . he was like nothing to worry about , it will get solved. i was having it two weeks back. now the problem is solved as such . not faced it . yesterday they even had a down time for 3 hours in my area where they were maintain their servers .mostly should be fine all over soon.

yes dear i faced same issue for around 1 yr and then in end they agree and fix it but u have to fight with them everyday then only these deaf going to react
