guys did anyone relise certain things...

bsnl launched their dataone service in mid of jan... and then started billing from 1st of another month.. and now they have changed plans and done all these upgrades from 1st jan .. after that august 15th incident.. they arent taking anychances...

so according to some sources the possible upgrades in Airtel BroadBand could be from this month end...
their billing cycle is from the 26 to 25 of the following month...

maybe they wanted to wait and watch bsnl move before announcing it.. and now after a month of seeing the bsnl`s offer they can plan their next move...

im expecting it to happen on 26th jan... REPUBLIC DAY... ppl will take it as a republic day offer... but the actual reason would be impleminting it from a fresh billing cycle...

Well for starters, I hope they fix up their fibre optics first..I've been getting shitty speeds (max 19 KB/s d/l speeds @ 256 connection) ever since the Taiwan earthquake & everytime I call up their customer care, all I get to hear is.."It shall be resolved within the next 2-3 days Sir"..Grrr..:@ :@

^^Wishful thinking, nothing concrete, have been waiting to hear some good news, have opened numerous tickets but none has acknowledged even an intention to upgrade speed in the near future. So either they are being secretive or it just aint happening. No word from Sify or other private players either.

I've had an erratic connection too, recently, as a result of the quake... however, it's actually beyond Airtel to resolve this quickly. My guess is give it a couple weeks and things should be back to normal.

I am on AIRTEL 256 UL but don't see any speed difference even after the quake... Only gripe is that AIRTEL does not seems to upgrade anytime soon.. spoke to a lot of people in AIRTEL & they simply refuse any upgrade but cited that they do have 2Mbps capped plans but the prices are sky high....

Airtel route straight through some of its manager's ass I think.100+ ms to every cs server :S. BSNL got me 25 ms from my city. Bangalore is supposed to be an IT capital and they can't even provide proper ping/dl speed/roads/polite people.

Made the mistake of calling one of the customer service guys. One of em came over and could not fathom why I wanted a lower ping because according to him" Aiyo data is transferringa na saar? Whata you wanta more faar?"

I am planning to switch over to the other side by the end of this month if airtel doesnt announce anything.... minimum that can hold me is 2mbps night unlimited or 512 kbps day and 1mbps night unlimited.

the speeds in delhi have gone for a toss with airtel, all i got now days in the day is like 17 - 19 on the 256 against the usual 24 25 kpbs. anyways i just hope that airtel launch some plan atleast 512 kpbs @ unlimited for the 256kpbs users @ same price !!! and may be a 1 mpbs night thing or even 512 all day will be good..

Dont know if its a temporary spike but I am getting 60 KB on Airtel Home 999 plan during the day.... it started from an hour ago. Keepings my fingers crossed.... just what the doctor ordered, 512 kbps during the day and hopefully 1 mbps during the night. Speakeasy showing 491 kbps..... YIPPY :)

Dream on man.....it must be a spike. they may be testing or something.

and honestly, if you leave Airtel, you will be the loser. Simply coz Airtel's A.S.S is unmatched by BSNL.

And they have to announce new plans soon..... dont be a fool :P

Its not dreaming buddy, its already happening with BSNL so a matter of time that other ISPs catch up. Airtels ass is great no doubt but Airtel gives me 28 KB during the day and MTNL used to give 33KB and now 160 KB. I have had both MTNL and Airtel for year now and both have ran trouble free. So am not concerned about ass. I cant keep on waiting.... Airtel should do something NOW!!!

MTNL dont have any unlimited plan for 2mbps....

In Delhi they do have unlimited plans, and night unlimited plan. I just need to confirm that guys with night unlimited are getting increased dl speeds before I burry airtel. Shame on Airtel for being so late even after being a private player.

This is all speculation. BSNL speed upgradation was coming and we knew it before hand . You could see them laying optic cables by the road side. But no such activity on Airtel side. And i dont think the existing airtel network has the required bandwidth capacity.

well i think their current lines are capable of at least 512 KPBS @ all time and giving the customer that at a price good enough will be a good deal as of now , WHT SAY ?
