Airtel speed-booster option??

Jus wondering if anyone here has used Airtel's new speed booster option called "Speed on Demand"?

Basically..any user can subscribe to this feature and when one wants say "2mbps" speed,he/she needs to go the website and activate it and walla!! 2mbps connection..

u can then use it for however long u want and then go back to the website and deactivate it..you'll only be charged for that particular duration..

pretty kewl feature for those who don't intend to shift to 1/2 mbps plan but desire that kind of speed..

do post the exact details of you usage..

These are the charges:

SoD will be charged on a prorata basis and would be charge at 5min / pulse. SoD@256 (Rs 25 /Hr)

SoD@512 (Rs 40 /Hr)

SoD@1Mbps (Rs 75 /Hr)

SoD@2Mbps (Rs 120 /Hr)

Seems ppl actually get high speeds for the first 15-20mins and then it comes down to only 65% of the specified speed..

But then you also need healthy torrents to utilize the maximum speed..

good for downloading something in a jiffy ,if it's that urgent ! ;)

tried it out once when i first heard of it . works pretty well. i find that with speeds above 512k it wasnt able to sustain both dl and up as in limiting the ul speeds increased dl speeds
