I'm thinking of switching from my Beetel 220BX to a to wireless modem. I'd contacted the Airtel service person in my area who mentioned that Airtel provides a Beetel 440 something.

What I want to know is, does this modem come with a USB connection to PC. I ask this because the ethernet port on my PC 's motherboard does not work and so I'd like to connect the modem to my PC via USB (as is the case with my Beetel 220BX).

Can anyone having a wireless setup from Airtel let me know whether the modem provided comes with a USB port?

NO it does not come with usb...

Ethernet card sells for pretty cheap these days 100-150..

Moreover why you want wireless setup when you want to use usb port ????

The wireless setup is for my laptop. I need to work from home on occasion and I don't have another computer table in my bedroom (where my desktop PC is kept) to keep my laptop on.

I have a study table in my other bedroom and plan to use it with my laptop.

Using Airtel provided Beetel 450BXI through a wifi dongle. Get a wifi dongle if you have a desktop or use the inbuilt wifi in your laptop.

P.S.: A lan card would be a cheaper option compared to the dongle.

Don't go for wireless modems provided by Airtel. They charge exorbitantly for those. What you need is a access point. Try Linksys WRH54G modem. It will cost you around 1.5 - 2k. Easy to configure. You can continue to use your 220BX USB for desktop and the access point for your laptop.
