Akhil kumar beats world champ!

i actually did feel sorry for the russian guy, World champ and stuff, he should've been pretty damn confident of his chances.

The other Kumar brother is in the quarter finals as well, hope we can snap up a couple of medals here.
 
The Molodvan boxer came out with a well thoughtout strategy.

He tired Akhil kumar in the 1st and 2nd rounds and then counter-attacked in the 3rd and 4th rounds. The Moldovan didnt attack even 1 bit in the first 2 rounds, he was just shielding his head and not attacking at all whereas Akhil was at his normal attacking game. Gojan then come out counter-attacking in the 3rd and 4th games and was leading 6-2 after the 3rd and eventually won 10-3. A well thought out strategy helped Gojan win.
 
Sad to see him loose.But atleast he tried. I hope the govt. recognizes his efforts and offers him some sorta monetary reward.Why should the govt. only reward those who bring medals for the country and ignore others who have done well but unfortunately failed to win any medals??
 
Why does Akhil totally drop his guard... He even pushes his chin forward... Is that bravery? Is that his style? He comes across as a showman and has done very well... Hope Govt rewards him with good facilities and coaching atleast...

Vijender seems to be a smart boxer who strikes a good balance btw defense and offense... Hope he does well... Surely India deserves a medal in boxing.
