In most products like of Dell and Microsoft, Nikon the international warranty does not apply in India as they have separate selling and servicing divisions in India. Confirmed with Sony, Nikon and Micorsoft for this. My friend got a laptop from US which was not serviced in India... he had to purchase a warranty of Rs7000 to get his laptop covered under warranty that too only for one year

That "DEFAULT"international warranty has lot of fine print.

I think its best for the OP to mention about the type of warranty he is offering.

The only fine print is that the particular product should be on sale or should have been sold in that particular country otherwise they wont have the required parts for replacement and inspiron 17 was never sold in india,my friends have got free repairs for dell studio 14 and inspiron 15r eventhough it was bought in US,its a very easy process and you dont even need a bill for it: either you can directly claim warranty or else get your warranty transferred from US to India on the basis of service tag:
