I was visiting website of Supreme Court of India & it seems they are in process of switching to Ubuntu Linux. so It seems like, Supreme Court of India ordered all courts to use Ubuntu 10.04 in their computers.

For doing this they have created a customized version of Ubuntu 10.04 DVD. A big day for all Open Source Supporters:hap2:

I have heard rumours that they used to use pirated Windows XP before moving to Red Hat. That was before Microsoft took the courts to the... ermm... courts.

I don't know how true that is but it makes for a hilarious story.

Wow this is great news indeed. Thanks for sharing .I think the ubuntu india community might have played a part in this and met with the IT ministry, or some judge up there loves ubuntu :)

thats silly. First of all half the people there will be beyond 45 and will be bad at using a computer. so they'll be requested to take computer classes. and no one takes Linux classes. Hope it ends well for them.

lets hope they can operate it right....

the so called common people cant even operate windows xp correctly....

god help us.....
