Hi,

I was thinking of getting an All in One Printer, its main purpose would be to print/copy CD/DVD covers and maybe sometimes to scan few documents as well. Budget < 4k (can raise it to 5K or so, if there is something that is undoubtedly VFM though lesser the price the better for me).

Any brand would do...but recurring cost if low wud be better again.
Had a few printers in mind

1) Epson Stylus CX2800 for its low refilling cost, whats the market price for this??

2) Lexmark X3350, low price and on paper specs seemed ok.

But please suggest anything from your experience and the market price if possible, as mentioned above my main need is a copier and printer.

i have an hp3188 AIo cost me 5.5k two months back..pretty good AIO..only negative is the cost of the cartridges i guess..black cartridge is around 700bux and colour is around 900..

HP or Canon. HP are the better ones. Epson and Lexmark are sometimes problematic.. mostly Epsons... but I am sure someone will disagree.... :bleh:

thanks guys for the suggestion....so if you all are suggesting HP then there has to be a good reason, and hence HP it is, so which model would be cheap but vfm...i would be mostly printing/copying at most 100 pages a month so the cheaper the better....btw i saw somewhere the F380 to be Rs. 4900, is that price ok???

i think the f380 is about 4-4.1k in the market, and yup it is prob one of the best deals (cheapest:P ) . And then wat u could do is use refilled cart if ur usage is high, this a way u save money, and even if in the long run say a couple of yrs later the printer gts screwd u dont lose much as it so friggin cheap.. :hap2:

I too was looking for an AOI today. Did a recco of Nehru Place and these are the options and my comments

1. HP F380 (there is a new one around the corner called 2120, about 1 K less) : 4.2K

2. Epson CX2800 : 4K

3. Lexmark

Everyone recommends HP F380. The Epson's do have cheaper catridges, but they are smaller too and finish of faster than HPs. Anyone (in Nehru place) can refill HP cats 50 bucks for black and 100 bucks for color. Genuine ones cost 700 for black and 900 for color. The Epson ones cannot be refilled, you have buy new ones. The authentic ones are 250 bucks, one third party ones are 125 bucks.

The print/scan quality is more or less the same.

Lexmarks are known have to have issues, anyone I could talk to related some or the other problem.

More problems are reported for Epsons than HPs.

I am inclined towards HP myself. Would be getting one of 1210 or 380 next weekend.

Hey thanks for the info buddy, specially clarification on the catridges part was helpful, have been quite a few years that i stopped using a personal printer and hence totally out of touch.

Now apart from original cartridges you can buy from 3rd parties like Amkette. Better than refilling & costs same. Bought recently. Good performance than refilling. For Canon, Black - Rs70, Colour - Rs110. Box pack & sealed. Carton says Made in China.
For HP not yet tried.
