Want a decent all-in-one (print/scan/copy) for home use. Narrowed down to HP PSC 1410 and Epson CX1500. Cant make up my mind between the two.

Both are similarly priced (around 4.5k) with Epson being a tad cheaper. Epson offers 2yr warranty over HP's 1yr warranty. HP offers faster printing speeds, but thats not a concern. I wont be taking many print outs and hence its not that big an issue.

Some points worth considering for the comparision:
1. Cost of ink cartridge. Epson is a little cheaper (for the original) but i am not sure of the quantity of the cartridge.
2. Epson has an optical resolution of 48-bit for scanning, against HP's 36-bit. WOuld it make much difference?
3. Epson - 2yr warranty. HP - 1yr warranty.
4. HP offers 50-400% for 'copy' options. Epson specs doesnt say much about it.

ANy input from u guys wud be helpful..

epson printers have their printer head built in na?..in hp head is changed every time u change the cartridge...atleast i think so..cuz i had my epson 43 printer lying around unused, n the cartridges dried up....scrapped the printer

i too am concerned about this as i am planning this hardware for my clinic around navratri.

i am also interested.

i was looking for canon and lexmark ones too.
as canon cartridges are more favourable to refilling while hps rfuse after one refill hardly you get second refiil.

masky : what factors did you consider while shotlisting these two?

2 words - 'cheapest all-in-one' :bleh:

And i have shortlisted HP or Epson coz HP sells!!! like hot cakes and customer satisfaction is high and Epson, well i have used a Epson Stylus Color 480 for 4 and half years without any probs. It still works gr8!!!

at office we have an old HP DeskJet 3325 and we've been refilling ink for that. so far we have refilled atleast thrice.. i think if u refill (carefully) as soon as the ink is exhausted, then it wont be much problem.

Also, the question on my mind is - Wud 48-bit color depth (in Epson) be useful over 36-bit (in HP)?

HP Series 1100... I Have that. It rocks.
Price?
Refillable?
Cost of cartridge, and no of pages per cartridge... some of the el cheapo printers from HP and EPSON don't even print 50 pages!

I hav got a Canon SLR 300Drebel(bt-2004) & am also looking for a PRINTER(High-End Prosumer) Cum Scanner Cum Photocopier,i.e A MFD

I MAINLY brought the Drebel b'coz of Printing High-Quality Photos & so is basically looking for a MFD(Mainly Printer with PHOTO-Quality function),but with all-in-one features(though Fax not that IMP)

.....so was basically Targetting The HP Photosmart 2608(which my vendor is asking for 12.5~13 k) Since it is a Photo-Quality MFD,(also with Good 48-bit color scanning fctn)......but...........on second thoughts,i reckon.....if I forgo the other MFD functions, will I be much BETTER with the PIXMA series(abv model 3000) printers from Canon(which by da way would be MUCH MORE Compatible with my Canon Drebel//also has CD-DVD Media printing fnctn).

........so Here I am.......most confused with my purchase decision........since I h've been thinkin.........what 2 prioritise MORE...........

1) Canon Printer Compatible with Canon drebel cameras.....OR,

2) Buy the HP Photosmart MFD 2608

Would anyone be truly interested to help or share his knowledge or experience in this respect & HELP mme BUY -One or the Other

I would INDEED BE TRULY GRATEFUL 2 HIM!!!
