Almost finalized config for 32k

Sorry for starting yet another thread. After researching, googling and with the help of ur posts i have finalized this config---
(please note that i may not know the exact model number of the components)
CPU-- AMD Phenom II 955 - 8k
RAM-- 2GB DDR3 - 3k
MOBO-- (thats where i am facing problem) (should be less than 5k)
HD-- 1TB seagate 4k
Monitor-- Dell 21.5 inch 9k
GFX-- HD 4890 (not included in budget) (will buy a little later) (must be less than 10k)
cabinet and psu-- not thought of (how much watts psu do i need?)

please tell me what to buy for mobo
please help me with the pricing and also suggest some improvements
 
What is your intended use of this PC??

If you could furnish more details & use the Template for what should I buy then we all can help you in a better way..

Like if you will be doing casual gaming the. Athlon 2 X4 will do the job.

Your preference like quad core processor or dual core??

Since you plan to buy ATI 4890 or ATI 5830 or ATI 5850 , Corsair VX 550 is a must

Please, there is no problem in running 4890 or the 5850 on VX450.

All here are suggesting a VX550, the reason is what i fail to understand, specially while suggesting 5770

There is no problem in running ATI 4890 on VX 450 . But its not advisable as then ATI 4890 would be drawing 80-89% load

Its advisable to always stick to 50-65% load for better efficiency

ATI 4890 and ATi 5770 are not at comparable .

ATI 5770 can't even come close to ATI 4890

Anyways , since he was insiting on ATI 4890 , I thought he may opt for ATi 5830 or ATI 5850

I am really sorry . I didn't realise that . VX 450 is more than enough for ATI 5770 .

To be on the safe side , since OP has the budget VX 550 will do him good keeping in mind enough space for future upgrades of HDD, fans etc
 
Its never bad to keep some extra bandwidth when getting a PSU. The OP would be better future scaled using a 550W supply vs. a 450W supply. Yes, the 450W will do the work too, but 550W shows better planing and foresight.

where do you get 2GB DDR2 1333MHz for that cheap??

also..
WD makes for a better option now since seagate dropped warranty terms to 3yrs.
the WD Green with 64MB cache for around same price point does look like a better option.

Just use the table icon around the text you want to create a table with

Its just on the right of SPOIL icon

Yeah that is what I said , its always better to keep some headroom for future upgrades

Power efficient + silent = WD 64MB Green

Performance + silent + cooler functioning = Seagate 1 TB 7200.12

WD green can never be a performance HDD... But a great dump drive indeed..
 
Radeon 5770 may not match the 4890 in fps performance, but instead you get DX 11 and eyefinity support (Future- proofing !!! )... And anyways the difference is not much... 3-5 fps is not that noticeable else you want just the bragging rights...

Plus, 5770 is not a power-monger like the 4890, with temps being much lower.. I'd suggest you go with Radeon 5770 or the Radeon 5830/5850 if you can shell out 3-5 grands more...
