The Altec Lansing VS3151 is the best 5.1 Speaker set , i was wrong in my early opinion.

What's Included
Included in the set are two right speakers, two left speakers, a center speaker, a non-directional sub-woofer, a control pod, and a converter for TV/DVD/gaming console sound outputs. Set up instructions are included within the User’s Guide, but those too lazy to read have the option of looking at the top flaps for an all-picture step-by-step.

Setting up the system is pretty simple, although a bit tedious, as is any 5.1 system. Set up consists of connecting all the speakers to the sub-woofer, which connects to both the power supply and to the sound source. Finally, connecting the control pod allows the listener to power up the system and start using it.

Overall a gr8 speaker

ok i just wanted to clarify 1 thing. does this have coax digital input or no. i have a coax monster cable. so can i use it with these speakers.

i do have monster optical cable any1 wants to buy.

Nope not mine.
But considering the reviews i read its a gr8 buy , so thinking of buying it.
Currently confused between 251 & VS3151.

251 has a better subwoofer 25W & Front/Rear/Center 7W total 60W
VS3151 has Subwoofer 20W Center 10W Front & rear 5W
So when the Bass is needed at high volumes the VS3151 is not as powerful as 251.

Satellites & center channel of 3151 are very clear at high volume
Also one advantage of 3151 over 251 is Upmix any 2.1/4.1 audio to 5.1 audio.
So listen you ur 2Channel Audio Source in 5.1 [Eg. TV & DVD 2Channel Audio Out]

Well most software players should be able to do that. At least dvdplayers do ( powerdvd, windvd, TT etc). Also foobar has this feature I think. Dont know about TV tuner software. But I think even ac3filter has dolby prologic 2 ( which is what we're talking about). So that should take care of that.

NEways, what I'm looking for is a really good 5.1 system for around 10K. Something which would come between 251 and the thx 5.1 systems.

It has a dedicated hardware for Upmixing & RCA Connectors for conecting
2 Channel Audio from TV,Playstation,DiscMan etc....

Hope you u are getting whta i am trying to say.

Have a look at the pics of Control Pod it has RCA pins for 2 Channel Input.

Well, if u get a rca to stereo 1/8" cable, you can plug in any 2 channel source into the line-in jack. As for dedicated hardware, todays cpus are more than capable of handling DPL 2 processing.

Still, it is a good feature, and could come in handy.

I would also recommend the Altec Lansing MX 5021,even though they are 2.1,they are very good,

dont need 2.1 darklord.
need 5.1 set for my room. already got z680's in the other room. cant get another set of those from usa or would have got 680 or z5300. anyidea about the cost of z5300 here

& also whats the cost of x530 & how good are they if any1 has them

x530 also seem to have the volume bass & treble on the right satellite.

these americans are really dumb ppl. who puts volume controls on a right satellite. 90% of the ppl wallmount the 5.1 speakers.
 
My Friend has X-530 they are awesome for the price he bought it 40$ !!! Much tighter then all the creative crap I heard. It has a higher RMS rating then the AL v3151 too.
