Alternate to Google Desktop Search

Guys, need your suggestion for desktop search utility similar to Google Desktop search which was discontinued by Google. I remember it was an excellent utility which throws results in fraction of a second.
Also it should also have option to index network drive.

Update: I am looking for Win 8.

I was about to open the same thread but looks like nothing is as powerful as google desktop . Its better to use old versions .Not sure if it will work for win 8 .

Locate files and folders by name instantly.

^^^ But i think this is not exactly we are looking for. We want something to go in to PDF ,Emails and search the content not just filenames.
