Alternative to Asus RT-N13U B1

Asus RT-N16U is a better option , ASUS RT 56U is overpriced and it does not have a dd wrt build for it.

Sorry about the OT - I recently installed this router at my home (1500 sqft apt). I don't get wide enough network at my home especially while using it with iphone 4 and ipad 2. My Windows PC is able to connect to it from places where iphone/ipad do not receive any network.. I am willing to switch to a new router but I am not sure whether the problem is in the router or with the apple devices or with the environment itself... I have tried Airport express as a substitute to the Asus router, but the coverage is still low..

How much range do you get on your PC?

The thing is that the wifi modules on phones/tablets are low powered keeping battery life in mind, so they will have a little less range than normal wifi adapters on laptops or PC's.

See if you can place the router in a central place at your home. Walls (especially brick walls in India) are a major hindrance to wifi signals.

giving it height would help too... locate it over a shelf or cabinet or something central in your home setting. 'birds-eye' approach is what we need to establish

^ Yeah I forgot to mention that. Had it in my mind while typing but forgot to actually type it. :S

I have experienced a difference placing my router higher than my table where it earlier used to sit.

Thanks for your response guys. I have tried keeping the router at an elevation, but still it doesn't cover the entire house for the iphone and ipad. (My laptop is able to get signal, weak or strong everywhere in the house..) I guess I'll need another router with higher range (router with external antennas?) or a signal repeater.

Is anyone having troubles with homeshop18?

I'm trying to order this router and when I proceed to checkout, I get stuck after the address screen. When I click on "Ship to this address" the page redirects to nothing. :S Tried this on Firefox, Chrome, Opera and IE9.

Also, any insight on the 1 year warranty mentioned instead of 3 years?
