Beginner
Somewhat of a noob here, I am looking for an AM4 mobo with atleast 2 (3 would be ideal) and Zen 3 support (either OOB or via flashing).

Help me get da bling bling on my computer thing thing.

MSI B550 series are a good pick in general, and I think the Tomahawk and Mortar fulfill your requirements.

Look for at least 3 argb/rgb headers and if you need more then better invest in a separate controller. It will be pretty cheap than spending lots of money on mobos just for bling thing.

Sorry for the late reply, guys, been a bit busy.
I've a small update: I've DROPPED the idea of RGB. I dont NEED it and it costs too much to justify in my budget.

I've done an unhealthy amount of "research" on mobos and I've made a small list:

NOTE: Bx50y is a short form for referring to B450, B450M, B550, B550M in one go. Else writing 4 rows for each type of board gets tiring.

ASROCK B450M PRO4 (B450, nearly PERFECT for a 5600X, ONLY negatives are average VRM quality and lack of BIOS flashback)
ASROCK B550M PRO4 (same as B450 PRO4, except in B550)
MSI B550M PRO VDH WIFI (B550, better VRM than PRO4, has BIOS flashback, JUST out of my budget at 12k)
ASROCK Bx50y STEEL LEGEND (ideally, I'd be looking at B450M and B550M Steel Legends, unless they perform worse than their full ATX versions)
GIGABYTE Bx50y AORUS ELITE
GIGABYTE Bx50y AORUS PRO
GIGABYTE Bx50y AORUS PRO-P
GIGABYTE B550M DS3H (basic bish board. absolute last resort if NOTHING else is available)

Are any of the following worth buying:
MSI B550M-A PRO (this is the microATX version of the amazing, not to mention COMPLETELY out of budget, MSI B550-A PRO)
ASROCK Bx50y PHANTOM GAMING 4 (EXTREMELY controversial and confusing. some sites claim this board is BS, others say its almost as good as a tomahawk... whats going on???)

What even is the difference between M and non-M versions of boards? Just form factor and expansion slots?
Say I have a B450 Steel Legend and B450M Steel Legend. Can I assume that BOTH will have the same VRM configuration?

Please state your budget, also what processor do you have?
I am looking at a few options right now (locally as well as Nehru Place, since Im in NCR):
Ryzen 5600X. First choice if I can get within 20k-ish (will probably need a B550)
Ryzen 3600 Second choice if I can getwithin 15k.
Ryzen 2600/2600X. Third choice if I can get within 10k-ish
Ryzen 2700X. Last resort because its a power hog + runs hot, will have to invest in a cooler.

Main use case is multimedia editing. Gaming is a non-issue, my current card is a bottleneck, and will remain so for the next few years :(

I know B450's go for 4-8k, and B550's for 8-15k. I'd prefer to have something that stays below 9k, ideally in 7k range.
10k is my hard limit. Im not going to spend more than that.
A special exception (upto 12k) will be made for 5600X, if I can ACTUALLY manage to find one in my budget. (yeah, I know, 5600X@20k LOL, might as well start looking for pots of gold)

B550 Tomahawk is completely out of budget, sadly. Mortar I'll have to check brick and mortar stores , online stores dont stock it

Hmm, judging by the prices, I think I'll be better off WITHOUT RGB.

You can go with Gigabyte B550 AORUS Pro if you r only going to use it with a 5600x, otherwise Pro-p Version is recommended

M stands for micro-ATX, non-M is Standard full ATX

with the current 3600X price its better to go with 5600x. and it performs as well as the 3700x if not more.

Or you can go with the https://www.amazon.in/GIGABYTE-B450M-AORUS-Motherboard-Protection/dp/B084XNZ9V2 or https://www.amazon.in/MSI-B450M-MOR...995c2&pd_rd_wg=ZkkDs&pd_rd_i=B07WC6LLB6&psc=1

I highly suggest this though. https://www.amazon.in/B450M-Pro-Gam...1eb8d&pd_rd_wg=2Kisl&pd_rd_i=B07PV9HGK4&psc=1

B450 works with Zen3? afaik those are incompatible?

This is also a good option:
Highly recommended by Buildzoid as one of the best B450 boards with some of the best thermals (beating even many X470 boards), and as the best B450 micro ATX board:
Personally using the B450M Mortar (non Max), and it's handling a moderately overclocked 3600XT (sustained 100W under load) very well. VRM temps haven't gone beyond 60C, even with next to no airflow over the VRM heatsinks. Very good at RAM overclocking too.
