Guys, for someone who is not looking to listen to music, but just use these to control lights and other arduino connected devices, does it make more sense to go for multiple Echo Dots than Echo or Echo plus.
c) if such customers have an existing Prime subscription: The existing Prime subscription gets renewed at the expiry date of such subscriptionYou can ask CC to confirm the same, someone I know did got positive response from CC.
Can you tell the echo dot capabilities / app support / your main usage with it ?

Hi, I got an invite for the purchase. I am planning to buy Echo Dot.
Can anyone please advise what is the exact procedure to to control lights/gadgets using Echo Dot? Is there any extra devise that I need to buy for the same? If so, please advise the cheapest option available. Amazon customer care is clueless on it!!!!
They are clubbing the scented candles as optional bundle instead of smart lights!!!!
So, do I just by LED light or there is need for HUB as well?
If anyone planning to buy/ bought, can share the link of cheapest available starting kit which I can use at existing light/tube light holder.
@vishalrao @cyberwarfare are just 2 of the guys who can help. I cant recall the other chaps name - maybe @rdst_1 might be of help?
If you are buying just smart lights then one would or wouldn't need a hub depending upon the brand.
Someone has posted a detailed setup in the forums. I will be looking at what he has done. Personally, I'll be following his method where he runs a server which runs an automation software Domocitz. Domocitz allows you to interface between various devices including Arduino and Echo. That way one can control all normal lights making your own hub out of Arduino.
If that is too much then definitely get Phillips or if you don't want a hub then you can look at LifX bulbs which connect directly to Wi-fi and don't need a hub.
Thanks you all for valuable advise..
Can you please share the link of the lighting product that are easy to use and cheaper and work with Echo Dot? Can I use normal build holder/ tube light holder or need to buy entire new fixtures?
How do I get raspi2 running Home Assistant hub that can be controlled with Echo Dot?
Is it Echo Dot worth the money?
