bx series is more prone to failure due to low end controllers. MX series on other hand is a solid one. plus I have one for more than 4 years or so!
You're comparing apples to oranges if you compare mx and bx. If you say bx is prone to failure then why not compare to a drive in the same segment? Don't compare dram and dramless drives.

Also, your sample size of 1 mx ssd is hardly representative and not statistically significant. I've been using a bx as a boot drive for the same amount of time.

IIRC, both MX500 and BX500 have same controllers. The DRAM was the major difference.
Don't remember exactly what was the Issue as when I went to market 4 years back and did my research at that time. BX was prone to more failures at that time is what I remember. That's why I only told don't go for BX series in my first statement :P anyways MX 500 might go on sale in amazon upcoming sale ;)
BX500 for 3.9k is not a good deal I feel, since mx500 has been available for 3.5k sometimes, and also 3 year warranty on bx vs 5 year warranty on mx.
+1

Get well the Mx one, I have been using it for almost a year now. It gave new life to my 2nd Gen Intel config.

Can you still see it for 3.5k?

I got one from FK in the last Sale at 3.5k

Just wait till the Sale starts from Friday and keep an eye on this MX500 1TB SSD on both Amazon and Flipkart. Flipkart though has been putting a minimum 2 quantity order when they are putting it on deal at 3.5k lately.

Its 20k now. Buggers.
Well i was just about to buy it

The worse part is that they will give it at original price only after card discount ,so if you buy during sales and are not opting for the card discount you are essentially paying more for it.

Well amazon just pulled this

20k now 18.5k after card discount which is the actual price

This is just pure speculation. In fact on reddit there have been reports of MX500 series overall quality going down in recent years along with samsung 870 evo.

someone please clarify
does mx series really have dram cache & better performance expected ...

could not get it from the net
eg. https://www.minitool.com/backup-tips/crucial-bx500-vs-mx500.html
Nope it doesn't per my last research and its a budget ssd so dont expect such features.
The MX500 does have DRAM, and also uses TLC NAND.

You can bookmark this list and refer to the specs when in doubt. However SSD makers are notorious for secretly swapping to lower performance components once a product line has been established.

Did you make this? o_O
