Review Amazon US customer care threatened me

It happened in the US, the product was a $139 windows tablet pc purchased during black friday. The person had buyer's remorse and asked me to have it returned the same day it was delivered (saturday before cyber monday) so I did. Amazon emailed a return label and the person packed it up at the UPS counter at a Staples store in Florida. Amazon said they couldn't verify the return. Tracking showed it was picked up and received by Amazon but they said nothing was inside. Staples refused to handover CCTV footage without a lawyer and these drop locations don't give a receipt for packages received. This entire process took almost two months because of the holiday season. Amazon assumed it was a fraudulent return and blocked my account.

Right so why did @rsaeon have so much trouble.

Literally black listed account after a decade of normal use.

Maybe messy return was really messy :shy:
It's literally a black box, account history or order value doesn't seem to matter. Once Amazon's internal review systems (now probably powered by some half baked AI) flag your account it more or less becomes useless.

In the US they blacklist the address. So even creating a new account with different email and phone won't work.

I take it you never got a full refund?
 
No, no refund. I lost all my digital purchases (kindle books, android apps, pc games), my unpaid associates balance and site assets that were hosted on S3.

So now I have all different accounts for each service a provider has (separate kindle, S3 and associates account) even for other providers like google (separate gmail, webmaster, adsense, maps, play store, youtube and google pay accounts) but I have no cloud storage account except for dropbox.
