Hi Guys,

I am in need of an upgrade for my graphics workstation and have zeroed in on 6 cored AMD, since the upgrade path on AM2+ is very cheap at present. Already have the 780g board so no issues there.

On checking board compatibility i found that the board supports the 95w models but not the 125w ones. would anyone here know if the 95w ones are available in India or is it only 125w ones?

Many Thanks

Re: AMD 1055T 1252 or 95w

As of now only the 125W TDP models of X6 have reached the market.
The 95 W TDP models are expected to hit by early Q3.

Yes.... The new Phenom II X6 T(aka Thuban) chips have an extra layer of some di-electric which reduces voltage leak by a good margin(clever of Global Foundries and AMD). So u should be able to undervolt quite good(aka reduce processor operating voltage)

And tests show that voltage has highest effect on power consumption...

Haven't seen many (any) 780G boards that support x6, even a lot of the 790GX MBs are excluded. Anyone know of any 780G MBs that are Thuban compatible? Two 95 watt x6 models should be out soon though according to this roadmap slide:
