Hurray!!!

which means Nvidia already has news from the horse's mouth that HD6850 and HD6870 will kick their you know what

in price and performance

Nvidia doesn't reduce their prices normally

but maybe they are feeling the heat

Let the price wars begin!!(tomorrow that is) :D

HD 6850 for $499 ?? thats harsh it ll be around 22K in india may be be more woah !!

I think HD 6770 would be gr8 in pricing !!

Any benchies for HD 6770 ? is it faster than HD 5850 ??

who says that hd 6850 would be available for $499 this is not true..how can anyone predict the price of this card as it is not officially released till now.

wait for the official price confirmation from amd itself, which is releasing this card on 22 october..and it is definitely known that amd 6850 will be lower in price than the 6870..

price cut on nvidia confirmed....not big cuts in gtx 460 1 gb ...so now gtx 460 768mb would be available for 130 euros but in india these prices will not be reflected in india as previous cut on gtx 460 768 were also not reflected in india....so do not know what cuts will ultimately happen in india..

what are you saying dude.....go through this thread again......no word on 6770 yet...

amd is currently positioning the $179.99 radeon 6850 against the geforce gtx 460 768mb, which currently has a sep of $169.99. However, gtx 460 768mb boards can be found for as low as $159.99 online. As a result, we feel that the stock geforce gtx 460 1gb will ultimately be the radeon 6850's closest competitor. Priced at $239.99, the radeon 6870 will be competing with geforce gtx 460 1gb oc boards running at speeds in excess of 800mhz graphics clock from our partners. And for a few dollars more, users may also consider the geforce gtx 470.

I have noticed a thing.
If two card both ATI and Nvidia are priced same $100 at USA.
Then Nvidia will be 6.5K but ATI will be 6K here.
U will find the ATI is cheaper than Nvidia in India......

^^ If you noticed they have improved the power dynamics significantly since the cypress design. AT's system draw at load was 320 watts odd, so technically a VX450 should do, however the power envelope increases disproportionate with even a slight overclock, hence if you have a quad core system which you like to overclock, not to forget a speed bump on the GPU too. A VX550 is highly recommended..

so what do u think 450 will do the work?

i check the amd site and their r very few psu certified for this cards.....

one more thing i saw an seasoning 330 watt one also so how come it is their???

VX450 enough for 6870 no worries these 2 cards have very impressive power consumption. But like Aces said VX550 will be ideal if budget allows more OC headroom and it will come with 2 power 6 pin power for the 6870 you wont need to use a converter.
