CPU/Mobo AMD Athlon 64 X2 Reviews

the Hardocp review is what i was looking for, very impressive.
THats what we want from our dual core CPUs. to be able to game when you are encoding say a video in background.
Very nice. Now just if AMD dropped the prices little bit ;)

well I hope that they reduce the price real soon. Intels dual may not perform as good as the x2 but at half the price who is going to complain?

Again it depends whats your usage, in most cases only gamers invest in 200$ + proccy's and even the INtel Dual core dont cut it. But yes for multi tasking udal core is the way to go..

Well if you factor in the price of the motherboard and DDR2 ram, then the 240$ intel cpu doesn't seem to be that rosy.
The cheapest dual core amd is like:
529$(CPU)+100$(the new DFI NF4 mobo)+80$(corsair valueram 1GB) = ~710$
For intel, its 241$(CPU)+250$(cheapest 955XE mobo)+150$(1GB of cheapest DDR2 667) = ~640$

Now if we compare the performance of these two, the 529$ amd cpu beats the 1000$ intel dual core xtreme edition in most benches. So tell me which is the better deal :P

Edit: If you want all the NF4 features, then add another 50$ for the intel mobo. In the AMD case, add around 60$ as well for SLI capable boards.
