i had,bought a new system,need help in overclocking :
System Specs :
Processor : AMD Athlon II X4 630 ( Stock Vcore-1.3500V | oced to 3.43 GHz with additional .025 v ) ( using Stock Cooler )
Motherboard : GA-MA785GM-US2H (rev. 1.0) ( BIOS version - F7 )
RAM : Transcend DDR II 800 MHz 4 GB - 2*2 ( OCed to 980 MHz with Latency table as 5-5-5-18 , providing additional .1V --- that goes 1.9V total ) ( PowerChips - p ) ( Dual Channel with DCT set to UNGANGED )
HDD : Seagate 1 TB 7200.12 Firmware CC38 | ST31000528A | Product of Thailand | AAM Default Value - 254 | SATA Operational Mode set to NATIVE IDE |
| Avg Access Time with |
(a) NATIVE IDE Mode with WINDOWS Default IDE Channel Drivers ( Standard Dual Channel IDE ) - 14.4 ms
(b) AHCI Mode with AMD Drivers - 15.7 ms
SMPS : Corsair VX450W
Chassis : NZXT Gamma
Case Fans : 4*Xigmatek-1253 and 1*nzxt
Keyboard : Logitech
Mouse : Logitech MX518
Mousepad : SteelSeries Qck Medium Sized
Gamepad : Microsoft XBox 360 Wired White
PowerStrip : Belkin 4 Port WHITE - Economy
Optical Drive : LG IDE 22x IDE ( ETA 1 week )
Speakers : Altec Lansing 2.1 VS4121 ( ETA 1 week )
Monitor : DELL ST2410 ( ETA 1 week )
Graphics Card : Sapphire 5850
1) In BIOS : INIT DISPLAY FIRST option was set to = PEG ( PCI Express Graphics ) and this disabled the onboard IGP FTW as long as there is a External GPU , and saved 128 MB RAM which was being shared by IGP.
2) OS Installed : Win 7 Ultimate x64|Swap Size:Initial-768 MB|Max:1280 MB |
3)System was stressed using prime94 64 bit (p64v2511), with 4 threads execution and Blend Test. | Duration : 3:30 hr:mm | Using Stock Cooler FTW , won't buy another.
4) I had raised Bus speed from 200 to 245 and cpu vcore and Ram Voltage was increased...Now as seen in CPUz screenshot , HTT Frequency is 2450 MHz ... is this ok . or i shud manually drop it down to 2GHz ?
5)How to Check Sapphire 5850 GDDR Memory ?( as we do with our SDRAM )
5) How to check for Artifacts ?
6) Which tool to use for stressing 5850 ? ( i am currently having 17" monitor and i had tried to stress it using FUR Bench with Stock Frequecies : as : Stability test : 60 Mins : Resolution : 1280*1024 : AA 8x : Extreme burning : Max Temp observed - 84-86 | Fan Speed - 1750-1800 |
IDLE Temp observed are 38-40 | Fan - 1000-1100 | Is this Normal ?
Furthermore i had manually tried to raise the Fan Speed , just for testing noise level , and after => 50% fan speed , it is loud and at 80-100% - it sounds as though some Hair dryer or Air blower is Working -- :ashamed: ... is this normal ?
7) Case Fans Install,ed can be viewed from PIC , are those are right positions ? wud write here later , gotta go now  , sorry for pic ,
don't have any better FTW ...
......2 Xigmatek on Top , One Xigmatek at rear , One Xigmatek at Side panel , One NZXT at front.......
