AMD Explodes..!

Ah, was lookin for zis thread :D

Well as per authenticity, no doubt zis is definately fake, but quite hilarious nonetheless

My observations:

- CPU Core voltage at 4.2 V? I've not heard of any board capable of doing that! (Ok, some radical voltage mod perhaps ;) )

- Clock speed at 3.8Ghz. On a 0.18 micron Duron?! Even the 90nm Athlon 64s have a tough time reaching those speeds on extreme cooling.

- Have a look at the CPU-Z screen that shows the Bus speed at 700Mhz DDR! Perhaps he's changed it to a quad-pumped bus hehe

- Now, all this voltage and such high clock speeds and just a simple heatsink on it (oh loook zere is a fan failure! you must change zit fur me  )

- Now after this big explosion the socket looks relatively clean and unharmed, but it managed to make an entire hole in the motherboard? :bleh: Me thinks the hole was made for some kind of firecracker to be placed underneath and push the CPU off the board in the first place.

But really the entire french accent thing is what makes it so hilarious!!

"Oh, ze processor has exploded! Ze overclock is too extreme!" :ohyeah:

Well they could have pulled it off had they the brains to atleast use a barton with a lesser "claimed" speed say 3ghz and a thermalright heatsink, not to mention a vcore of 2.2v(possible on some boards). No way can u make an AXP run windows for any length of time with vcore>2v unless u have something very good like a huge thermalright with delta fan or water/phase change cooling.

Those are genuine but fun nonetheless.Tom's also have a video of an Athlon going up in smoke-genuine of course(no it didnt explode but simply the die cracked and gave a small puff of black smoke).Later boards based on nf2/kt400+ usually turn off the system if the cpu is close to critical temperature.
