AMD FX-8150 'Bulldozer' Hits 8.4GHz and Breaks Overclocking World Record

429MHz! That is 120MHz past the previous world record! Sami Maekinen and Brian Mchlachlan now hold the current world record for the world fastest clocked processor.

This "Science Experiment" was done on near production level pieces of silicone. Once we get these processors in hand we are definitely looking forward to seeing what they can do in terms of performance. I wouldn't be surprised if the newer production samples will be able to go even further. Should we start taking bets for the date that the 9GHz barrier is broken? Until then, Congratulations Sami, Brian and the rest of Team AMD for breaking the world record by 120MHz with a speed of 8.429GHz!

The previous record was held by a Celeron anyways so no biggie if it was running 2 cores, etc ....

but it's only two enabled cores :/

for these kind of records cores have to be switched of, even in Intel!!!

you can't get these kind of high frequency with all cores active.
