ECS has previously wowed the industry with several industry leading creations including the introduction of Dual Graphic Engine technology (DGE). DGE technology allows users to keep up with the fast paced advances of technology without paying a premium by incorporating onto one platform either PCI –Express graphics with AGP Express graphics such as on the ECS 915P or PCI –Express Lite graphics with onboard graphics such as on the ECS 915G.

ECS continues to prove that nothing is impossible with the announcement of the new PF88, which enables AMD and Intel technology to be used on the same platform.

The new ECS PF88 converter card is the next step towards ensuring users can take advantage of all the latest technological advancements as and when they happen. ECS' converter card will enable users to utilise the features of the AMD K8 architecture on an Intel LGA775 platform without the expense and hassle usually associated with keeping up to date with technology. The PF88 is user friendly and flexible with its plug and play functionality, which will allow users to convert to the K8 AMD platform without the need to remove their Intel motherboard. It's as easy as plugging in a graphics card!
The first ECS motherboard designed to be compatible with the new PF88 is based around the Intel P4 LGA775 socket and includes 4 slots of DDR2 667 memory, a 1066FSB, SATA2, GigaLAN, 1394a Firewire, and makes use of the SiS656 Northbridge and a SiS965 Southbridge. The SiS965 Southbridge is shared with the converter card, which is based around the AMD socket 939, and has its own dedicated SiS756 Northbridge, 2 slots of DDR400, power management circuits and a FSB2000T, which are required to run AMD K8 technology. PF88 motherboard supports the latest dual core technology from Intel and AMD. Furthermore, the P4 LGA 775 socket also supports EM64T from Intel.

The new PF88 converter card will retail at a third of the cost of purchasing an additional motherboard and ECS will sell its PF88 and compatible motherboards separately to allow users to covert from an Intel platform to the latest AMD technologies at a later date and cost effectively.

ECS is committed to developing creative ideas that enhance today's motherboard technology, leading the way and setting high standards for tomorrow.
