AMD has finally wrapped the curtains of their latest baby. Introducing the flagship (read, monster) HD 7990 Graphics Card. Packing two HD 7970 GHz edition GPUs on one PCB, the AMD HD 7990 aims to push graphical prowess to a new level (or the highest level in the current generation at least) with their latest product.

Putting two powerful GPU dies on one board, packing 6 GB of GDDR5 memory and over 8 billion transistors is no small feat. The AMD HD 7990 achieves that and also boasts the title of being (arguably) the fastest GPU around. So what's ticking inside this monster?
AMD HD 7990 Specifications

  • 2*4.31 billion transistors
  • 2* 3 GB GDDR5 memory clocked @ 6 GHz
  • 2*32 ROPs
  • 2*2048 Shader Units

AMD HD 7990 Price and Promotion

AMD is pricing the HD 7990 at $999 which is right up there with nVidia's GTX 690 and GTX Titan GPUs. However, the AMD HD 7990 does end up faster in most benchmarks, even though it sips a little bit more power.

As a promotional offer, AMD is bundling quite a few games with the HD 7990 that include: Far Cry 3, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, Crysis 3 Hunter Edition, Bioshock: Infinite, Tomb Raider (2013), Hitman Absolution, Sleeping Dogs, and Deus Ex: Human Evolution. Phew, that's a lot of games! Should keep you busy for a while huh!

So the new Kid (beast) in the block is the AMD Radeon HD 7990. GPU Wars RESUME!techenclave.com/news/amd-launc…
