I have AMD Quad 635 with Gig 785 mobo, 8400GS GC and 4 GB 1600 mhz corsair ram.

As this mobo supports only upto 1600 mhz I am not able to OC this RAM, so I want to upgrade my mobo for OCing. Currently my PC is running at 3.4 ghz by OCing and ram is running at 1566 mhz.

Please suggest me mobo for upgrading within Rs.4000/- and also tell how much can I sell this mobo for?

Regards

You shouldn't waste your money on a motherboard that doesn't support SATA 6GBb/s & USB 3, and I think only the AMD 970/990 motherboards do that.
You could get a 970 pro chipset motherboard for about Rs.5000-6500, but you'll have to check the CPU support list to see if the motherboard you're getting supports the CPU you want to upgrade to in the future.

But, I don't think your motherboard upgrade will give you any added performance benefits. You'd be better off buying more RAM, or a better graphics card. But, if you enjoy overclocking, then, by all means, buy a new motherboard, but you'll have to increase your budget a bit, or go the second hand route.

Also, look up your motherboard here: http://www.overclock.net/t/946407/amd-motherboards-vrm-info-database , to see if it's recommended for overclocking.

That's awesome. I was looking at online prices and 6100 was the cheapest I could find. At 5300 it's a really good deal. If the EVO version isn't a lot more expensive, I'd go for that instead.

Unless you plan to get a SSD, no point looking at SATA III. Most of the HDDs in the market cannot exceed the SATA I spec in terms of B/W.

USB3 is a different thing however.

Look at 8 series boards with 3rd party controllers.

880G motherboards usually offer USB 3.0 and SATAIII as well.

There is zero performance difference in moving to higher RAM speed unless it is two jumps (1600 - 2133 or 1333 - 1866). Likely you will never see a difference.

Spend your money on a 60GB SATA SSD, that will speed up the system tremendously. Even running on a SATA 1 SSD is quicker than a regular mechanical drive, let alone SATA2 (which you will be limited to on your motherboard - it's still going to be a much better upgrade than RAM speed).

My.desktop motherboard gigabyte ga880ga ud3h has.full.atx along with two usb3 ports abd six sata three.ports.

I agree that you should.invest in ssd.
