^^^ Thanks. Only one thing common in both the cases, X6 and a 880 board. Maybe some issues with the 880 board and DDR3 when running a 135w processor ?

Anyways, hoping the new memory comes in today and does not fail me again. Already wasted Rs 280 blue darting it back to Prime :-(

Okay folks, good update finally. The Mushkin ram is very good and stable. One hour of Prime95 and another hour of Memtest and it is all good. More importantly, since Gigabyte boards default to 1.6v for memory (read up on google as to why they do that), the memory runs at 1T easily instead of the default 2T. Tried to get greedy and tighten timings, that was a no go :-(
