AMD Overdrive 4.2.3 not detecting Phenom II X2 550 BE

Hi guys,

I used AMD Overdrive 4.0.4 to occasionally OC my proccy (with ACC off i.e. only two cores enabled) until now.

I recently downloaded and installed AOD 4.2.3, but it refuses to detect my CPU after the warning window with the following message:

Cannot detect AMD cpu... :scared14: :annoyed:

I tried searching on the internet but no luck :(

Does anyone have any idea about this?

Is your motherboard BIOS upto-date?

Can be an issue though a clean reinstall might just solve the problem as well.
 
Already tried clean reinstall, but didnt work.

Just updating BIOS, hope this does it....

Updated the BIOS and the chipset drivers... and it worked!:yahoo:

One last thing, I am getting per core Temps of 45C and total CPU temp around 52C when running on stock frequency (3.1GHz) and cpu fan at 100%.

Had cleaned my entire rig last week and also re-TIMed the proccy at that time using CoolerMaster thermal grease.

Should I re-TIM the proccy?
 
Re-Timed the proccy and voila!

Idle core temps: 35C :yahoo:

Also installed 2 120mm CM Silent fans at the front after that....

No issues bro... Actually I had re-TIMed just after posting the question but forgot to post here....

Some more small problems, when I first installed AOD after BIOS update, I could read/change CPU Fan control, but after restarting the PC, it is diasbled permanently!!!

Also the GPU status and control is also disabled(didnt check it the first time ;) )

Those are disabled for me as well. Dunno how to bring them back on, if I find something will bump and post here OR PM you. Cheerio!
 
I had 4.0.x initially, and fan control was disabled in that as well :(

Do you suggest to try 4.1.x ?
