hello guys....

there is just about 1k of difference in price of AMD Phenomâ„¢ II X6 1055T and AMD Phenomâ„¢ II X4 965 BE....

for which one should go for? what are extra benefits(apart from 6 cores) of having X6 proccy over 965 BE for day today use and gaming??

Thanks ,,,

Its quite obvious isn't it ? For 1k extra you not only get a 6core cpu but a cpu with improved scaling, power consumption and memory utilization. Inaddition to the new features such as Turbo Core and what not ?:p

Get the X6 hands down. However don't expect it do wonders in day to day usage and gaming. The X6 is meant to be a power house in multi threaded apps, since games today are not capable to utilize multi cores X6 will not provide any benefit over the 965.

Just by looking at the specs i can can that 965BE will be faster than 1055T because 965 is 3.4GHz where as 1055T is 2.8GHz.

So for day today use I'd say you go for neither and instead go for X4 955BE or X4 945BE. As the speed difference between them (945,955,&965) isn't very high only .2 GHz.

If you still want to go for X6 i suggest you go for 1090T

For Gaming AMD Phenom II X4 925 is enough but you want the best performing yet Value for Money then I would say PII X4 945. 955BE only if you wanna overclock but I don't think you will be wanting to overclock even the 945 as the core performance is enough to satisfy you. 965 BE is overkill, regardless to sy about the 6 Corers. I am going for PII X4 925 or 945, you should to.

heyy .. is there any huge performance difference in 945 and 925 ???

1) 945 is not available in BE version that's a misinformation

2) For gaming there won't be any visible differnce when comes to Frames/sec but only when your using CPU hungry applications like MATLAB. But it's a mental satisfaction that 'I have got 200 MHz more in my 945 for 500 bucks more' ;) [PII X4 925 - 2.8GHz while 945 - 3.0GHz] But since I am tight with my budget, if I save 500 here I can invest it on System cooling. But given the choice of deciding without worrying about the extra 500 bucks, I would go for 945.
