Gonna buy a PC for my friend. Is the above proccy + mobo combo good ?.

Or is the 7750 BE or the 5600+ available in richiet st., chennai ?.

I enquired sethia infotech and they say only the x2 240 is available in entry level. I wanna build a pc with CRT 15" monitor or a 17" CRT monitor if there is no much price difference between 15 and 17 inch[/B].

The budget is strictly 15k and extension beyond this impossible for him

Suggest me a good 17" or 15" CRT monitor and also plz specify in which shop i can get in richie st.,

Oasis network offers a proview 17" CRT for 3k. Is this a VFM monitor ??

plz dont suggest me gigabyte or biostar mobos and no celeron, atom, sempron proccys. My friend requires only ASUS or INTEL org. mobo

For cabby i have an idea to go for the ZEBRONICS MEDALIST . It looks good but dont know about the quality, sturdiness, etc. Plz throw lights on this cabinet... here is the link http://www.zebronics.net/Zeb_Medalist.asp

plz give me configs of AMD and INTEL...

it is good....what all do you want?

cpu+mobo+ram=15k? or the entire computer for 15k?

AMD Athlon II - 240(2.9k) + Asus M2N68-AMPLUS(2.3k) - 5.2k

1GB Transcend 800MHz DDRII RAM - 1.2k

250GB Seagate 7200.12 HDD- 1.9k(Not much difference b/w 160GB and 250GB prices)

LG/Samsung DVD R/W - 1.1k

Zebby cabinet with PSU - 1.4k

Logitech KB+Mouse - 0.6k

Acer 15" - 4.6k

So this comes to around 16k. :) You cant get a dual core build for less than this amount. If you need a bigger monitor then get a 17" for 5.5-6k or a 19" for 6-6.5k.

Yup, an LCD would save that extra 2k amount in electricity bill in less than 6 months.

That guy isnt bothered about its electricity bill mate. He wants a super cheap PC for the time being thats it..:hap2:

if you are interested Asus has another division called asrock--they make good stuff and really whacky stuff with weirdest possible combos--with good build quality--they have an amd am2+ nvidia 7025 chipset for about 1800rs. brings down your cost by 500rs compared to its bigger brother asus m2n68 am2+.

i've seen and tested the board and it is very good!!

i recommend it because you seem to be pinching every paisa(penny!)!!!

i doubt whether he opts for Sempron, since he has an idea to go for windows 7...

Anyone knows about the performance of sempron 140 in windows 7 ??

Are you Serious "d Asus has another division called asrock-" it it true?

ive seen many foxconn components on my asus mobos. Maybe the connectors and components used in some asus, foxconn and asrock are same, but me too seriously doubt asrock belongs to asus.

yes, asrock is the sister concern of ASUS. I came to know this through some websites. both the quality as well as warranty period differ in ASROCk which carries only 1 yr warranty... For ASROCK it belongs to the same ASUS company but a seperate entity

I bought for Rs. 5300 form Computer empire Nehru Place, New Delhi. AMD Phenom II X2 240 + Asus M2N68AM Plus

- Crappy Onboard Sound.

+ Better performance than Intel E5200 / E5300 + G31 Motherboards
