AMD reportedly preparing Radeon RX 9070 GRE 12GB

AMD is releasing 9070 GRE Great Radeon Edition for exclusively China and is going to be released for Asia Pacific region markets as well. RX9060 16GB/8GB will have to wait until this is released.

Obviously we are waiting for the arrival of Radeon RX 9060 XT and Radeon RX 9060, but according to Chinese media IT Home , the Chinese market is preparing a new "GRE" graphics card, namely Radeon RX 9070 GRE; the current GRE is no longer the original Golden Rabbit Edition, but the Great Radeon Edition.

Our sources have informed us that the Radeon RX 9070 GRE 12GB is currently being planned by AIB partners and is ready to enter mass production, so we will soon see the relevant graphics card launched in the Chinese market and other Asia Pacific markets as well and will be available by June,2025. This strategy is to counter RTX 5070 12GB GPUs.

As for the Radeon RX 9070 GRE graphics card, it basically uses the same NAVI 48 core, that is, the RDNA 4 GPU architecture, as the Radeon RX 9070 XT and Radeon RX 9070 which are currently on sale, but the memory will be reduced to 12GB and the memory interface will be 192 bit bus. These essentially are for those who could not afford 9070XT & non XTs.

So the prices will or might be priced around RTX 5070 GPUs. The Radeon RX 9070 GRE may likely target a sub-$500 US price tag between $449 - $499.
