Got the following:
Amd Semphron 2200+
Asus A7V400-MX SE

The bios is showing 900MHz for the cpu frequency, how to change it to

1500 Mhz??

Also 256Mb 333Mhz ram is running at 266 Mhz.
Bios:
Phoenix-Award Bios v6.00PG

Cpu FSB freq is locked. How to change it?

Things r fine so far. Cant really give an assertive statement on
stability yet since 1. My brother is going to use it primarily and 2.
we have just got it going at stock speeds.

Btw, I tried NFSUG2, but the onboard unichrome graphics rendering was
awful.
And Halo didn’t even run – it said something like “There are some
serious issues with ur graphics drivers – get updated ones…†:(

Currently I’m looking for these drivers – anybody can throw a link
here?

Sorry dude the ProSavage DDR chip on the via KM series is just fancy in name :it is completely useless for any gaming.Completely as in much much worse than even a MX 440!
U can update drivers from viaarena.com but forget Halo ,the games needs a very powerful card for decent gameplay.(atleast a gf4 Ti)

Yeah... that game is a hog. Get another 256MB of ram and atleast a ATI 9600/NVIDIA 6200 level card if u wanna play games. On that onboard video, forget gaming :p

I tried my fx 5200 on this mobo and it did pretty fine for NFSUG2 with 640x480 res {overclocking this card to 300/460}
I want atleast NFSUG2 to run on the amd machine - my 3year old nephew just loves it. and when he gets into the hot seat u just cant get him off ;)

This is the only ext graphics card that I have - yeah I know it isnt the best, will look to purchase a used agp card in the 5-7k range next - what to expect??

How much does a 9800 Pro cost?

Btw, does n e one know a link that will show comparison between all ati & nvidia cards? {clock freq, ram freq, ram size, shaders supported etc}

I think there's a second hand 9800 Pro in the market right now for about 7k :)

In India, a new 9800 Pro is still ridiculously priced at around 13K while the US prices have dropped to sensible levels of around ~120$.

Thanks for all that great info!
I know HIS mobos are prone to lockups.
What about HIS IceQ 9800 Pro??

I've got a 300 watts psu, so I want to make sure that it wont get overloaded when I connect a 9800 pro.
The following components are there inside my cabinet, please tell me approx power consumption for each
1. Pentium 4 3.02 GHz HT
2. Intel 865 GBF
3. 60 GB Samsung
4. 20 GB Samsung
5. Iomega dvd writer
6. FDD

How much does a 9800pro consume?

HUH???

You have such a high end config(can;t say abt the RAM as you have not mentioned it) and 300 watts??? NO WAY!!! Upgrade RIGHT NOW to at least a 450 Watts.....

Otherwise, with a 9800PRO, you could have problems.......

The HIS 9800 pro are among the best 9800pro's. Get it if you are getting a good deal on it. And you will need a better psu if you connect a 9800pro.

Sorry for being late.. How can you even compare the prosavage DDR with MX440. My GF2MX400 runs much much much better than ProSavageDDR. :bleh:
