Graphic Cards AMD's First Look At Radeon 7000 Series and AMD's NEW DRAM Modules!!!

This is another sign that shows that AMD is doing well and are not going anywhere. There was some controversy over AMD not being able to compete with Intel and that they may be going under. AMD states in this article that their Fusion (APU) line is doing very well and they are adding to it by designing their own RAM modules to help customers get more out of their product by increasing ram speeds rather than companies shipping out APU systems out with low speed DDR3.
This time AMD has priced its GPUs at a bit higher prices of 450-570$ !
This also shows AMD's first look into the release of the Radeon 7000 series.
Check out the link and let me know what you think...

already AMD fans are upset with bulldozer series and now they want to increase the price of their GPU's!!!

i say best of luck AMD.

TDP is great for such cards...

People are upset about BD, not AMD as a whole....ATI/AMD still stands head to head against Nvidia... If the price satisfies their performance then we have a winner here...

Exactly! As always, you get to the point before me.

Pricing for the newer cards seems to be correct for the time being, and with poor yields from TSMC, rates will be on the higher sides. BTW this pricing is for the 7950 and 7970, apparently.

totally agreed, but $450 is the starting!!! of high end cards, that scares me off.

Ahem, seem like the very high end cards. Plus they are based on a newer architecture. What do you expect, same rates as that of current 6000 series? Not with the problems with the yields.

well it seems my 6950 sapphire 1GB is almost same in specs with 7850 the only difference power consumption and 7850 is 28nm and mine is 40nm price difference mine is 14.5K and 7850 23 - 25K or even more who knows if the starting price is 450$ then it can even be 30K i guess.:S

I'm guessing the HD7850 is gonna perform as good or better than HD6970 so a price tag of 20k(launch) combined with HORRIBLE 28nm yields and NO(nVidia) competition is pushing AMD to such prices.

And I think if AMD has priced the card at 450$ for HD7950, I really think they must have thought a lot, especially when they don't usually price their single GPU's at launch at such a high price(remember HD4870, HD5870, HD6970?).

And why not??? Traditionally it has been like that, with the new gen. high end replacing previous generations at the same price points barring some exception.

i think they want to capitalize the launch and will look for price correction when 28nm chips get settled ... may be after 3 months we will see some price cut

hope i am right else my plans will be delayed further or may be shattered
