AMD's Vishera FX processors based on AMD's latest PileDriver architecture is all set to launch by the end of this year. We have details on the pricing of the launch processors, and they are good.
AMD Vishera FX Launch Lineup Pricing
Based on Bulldozer Enhanced aka PileDriver Architecture, AMD"s Vishera FX platform launch lineup is something like this:
The flagship CPU, the FX-8350 is packs 8 integer cores (4 modules, 8 cores), a total of 16 MB cache (L2 + L3) and a base core clock of 4.0 GHz (which is pretty amazing). Individual modules can overclock themselves in TURBO mode upto 4.2 GHz. Two of the launch processors pack 8 cores, while the FX-6300 is a 6 core (3 module) CPU and the FX-4300 is a 4 core (2 module) CPU. The TDP for these processors is expected to be 125W (which sounds reasonable for a 4.0 GHz processor we believe).
We can only hope that these processors perform. If AMD Trinity is any indication, the future looks bright(er) for AMD.
