I think these releases are less valuable for people moving to new platform but more of an effort by AMD to keep folks already on AM4 in jumping ship. I haven't looked at the benchmarks but between these two, I don't expect much difference in gaming, for other workloads I expect 5700x to be better.

Honestly, as stated above... the best thing to do now is to wait for prices to normalize in the next couple of months & than take a call.
