Hi all

I have got Sennheiser 595. I use it with my pc. Though it sound really good but i read that using with amplifier it produces superb sound. So no i decided to buy an amplifier, but no idea about that what should i buy. Please tell me which one will be best for this headphone and my budget is max 4k.

Thanks :)

Hmm, it is a bit difficult to get a decent amp for 4k since these amps will have to be ordered from abroad. You can try getting the FiiO E3 or E5. They wont cost you much and since the HD595 is only 50 ohm it should be enough for the E3 to drive. Not too sure though.

Else try to get a Cmoy amp. Some of the better ones can drive 300 ohm headphones. The good ones will cost you about $60 -$70 + $30 shipping to India. Or if you have lots of time, you can try building a Cmoy amp.

Nothing really exists in that budget. The cheapest real headphone amp you'd get is the one on the Asus Xonar Essence STX soundcard which costs around 8k+taxes.

I think a good sound card will be enough(since 50 ohms cans).. i use my hd 595 with xonar dx only...sq is quite good enough (lacks bumpy bumpy bass though, but its rather cans problem then sound card :P )..never used any descrete amps so can't compare..

Where are you from ? I use my HD650 with a Taurus 100W home amp. Its not a headphone amp strictly speaking but it has a headphone socket. Its the cheapest thing that I could get for my 300 ohm HD650. They drive the HD650 pretty well and it has controls for bass and trebble to tweak the sound. They retail for about 6k i believe.

no ,you will not do justice to your product if you use 4k amp ,right now I'm eyeing Cambridge audio amp for my HD650 ,since headphones amps are not easy to get here .

^^ Hey for those that have headphones > 50 ohms get this - HOTAUDIO BIT-PERFECT USB DAC HEADPHONE AMPLIFIER AMP - eBay (item 280329494285 end time Apr-08-09 20:53:37 PDT)

I have the higher powered one which I use with my HD650. Its an amazing piece of hardware for its price. It has improved the SQ of my HD650 considerably. It cannot drive my HD650 appreciably but it acts like a sound card (and a good sound card at that). So you can connect your headphone to the DAC when you want to listen to music and then reconnect it to your sound card when you want to play games.
