'AMY' Debut Trailer hits Gamescon 2011!

Developed by Vector Cell, this survival horror game was initially planned to be a PSN exclusive, but now we have a Gamescon trailer confirming that it's going multi-platform this Fall. Here's the trailer:

Plot:

Set in December, 2034, after global warming has caused disease and natural disasters to run rampant, the game focuses on a small midwestern U.S. city called Silver City, right after a mysterious comet has landed. The protagonist of the game, Lana, awakens to find herself in a city wracked by violent outbursts, wreckage and death. Even though she, too, is infected, her priority is to resist the disease and escape the city. Aided by the titular character, Amy (a mysterious, autistic girl with special powers), Lana must fight creatures who look like a combination of zombies and reavers, military Special Forces and other survivors.

A very early (and shitty) build of the game:

Let's hope it has improved since this was released. :)

IGN gave it a measly 2 on 10! I'll pass.

Had enough with Afterfall: InSanity last year, after having wasted close to 5 hours on the game. I think I'd rather be a bit more selective this year with the titles I intend to play.

^^ Whenever I come across a game which is getting trashed, I try to see how much of humor the reviewer has poured into the review, just to get a few laughs, my personal BAD GAME moment was when I played Hanuman on the PS 2, it would've been better if I would've jumped over the 4th story of a building [if Hanuman physics take over I might still be stuck in the air for all I know] --

These are the gems in Amy's review --

Amy looks astonished because she can't believe how bad her game is.

Lana is scared because she knows there's a good chance her crowbar will go through the enemy without damaging it.

Amy purports itself to be survival horror, but the only surviving you’ll be doing is trying to make sense of the muddled gameplay mess laid before you as you’re “scared†by the same gimmicky frights, like bursting gas pipes and falling portraits, over and over again.
