Market Feedback An idea for Tech Enclave Market Section

Hi Guys,

I've been using Tech Enclave Market Section alot lately and an Idea struck me while I was just looking around and seeing people bump.

Why dont you start sellings spaces for items?

It works similarly like google advertising like on right you can have 5 columns and you can sell those spaces to people who want to sell or buy. It will be visible to all and will attract attention from everyone. (People who are desperate for selling or buying will get more attention by just paying a small fee)

lets say 200-300 bucks for a week?

or you can simply pin their threads.

Its just a revenue generating model for something bigger.

Let me know what the community and admins think about this?
 
Sounds quite sensible, but people will keep bumping the threads.
Also the current situation of bumping in 24 hours seems fine to me.
but in a revenue generating way, nice suggestion!!
 
This is a tech forum and the market section is there just for the convenience of its members not the other way around.
There is no need for putting up spaces for sale, everyone know's their way around and for the people who can't seem to figure it out, well this place is better of w/o them..

"This is a tech forum" and market section is there just for convenience,

if Google had that kind of attitude, you'd be searching through Bing.
"This is a search engine and not some market place where we sell spaces"
 
lol This here, ain't google and there is no correlation among them.. well there is, but both are completely different ventures.
now stop wasting time and space here and go play with yourself or something..

Idea looks sensible but 200-300 loooks too much when selling in market better would be only 5 threads pinned for 3 threads 5 buks per day for other 2 threads a person ready to give higher amt per day.....

Revenue generation is supposedly going on with the T-Shirt order. Head over there if anyone wants to contribute to TE.

some extra buck is never a harm :ohyeah: there is always room & time for it :P

unless the rich mods decide not to :P
 
This will also increase the price of goods sold... which will be incidentally have to be borne by the buyer in any case..

Current system is satisfactorily alright...

Well, Google is a business entity looking for all kinds of ways for generating revenue. TE is not. Its revenue generation sources are good enough as long as its maintenance costs are met.

If revenue generation has been on the minds of TE Admins, you would not be posting here for free.:rofl:There are many forums which require paid registeration to ask questions and get them answered. With the kind of traffic TE gets, it could have gone that route way back had it really wanted to focus on generating revenue.

btw, if you are really so concerned about advertising your sales. you can always follow the regular advertising route and pay for putting up banner ads
 
This is a technical forum-A NEUTRAL TECHNICAL COMMUNITY- let's keep it that way. No changes required. The only change we need is that people need to find opportunity to spam around the forums and lowball- but that comes down to an individual's personality. Unfortunately that's something which can never be corrected on a massive scale :P.

Just to clarify, the T-shirt orders are not for revenue generation. In fact they're being subsidised :P
 
No point of fee as here simple terms and conditions are seller to sell valid things and buyer take care while doing deal. according to the rules. so if fee is to be involved than mods or website owner needs to take responsibility if something goes wrong during deal or dispute. so better run it in simple without fee
 
Guys, we're taking this thing too far. lets go easy on this, shall we?

Its probably on how TE incorporates the idea. Like m0h1t said, this is a tech forum and market place is just their for convenience.

Its not going to change the marketplace, just give an edge to people who need some light and TE dont necessarily need to pin the thread, just have a column on right.. I dont think that'll change anything.

Its probably just an addition for the improvement of TE.

Delguy19, If fee is involved, its not for the product.. havent you seen Classifieds in newspaper? TE doesnt need to take any responsibility. They can just mention that.

and its really not about revenue generation or making some money... Maybe they can make this as if you have more than 500 posts or more, your posts will automatically be shown on the right as a bonus and they can show random items posted in last 7 days of all members with 500 post or above.

what is the space for then? if you are selling a product you need space.

imo i think you want your posts to be on top always where its always in view. Once a sale is over you want that space to put up a new sale. I think that's how you want it right?
Dont be selfish. Marketplace is for everyone. not one or two people only.

if you can spend money, put it on ebay or like you said in newspaper where it will be in view always.
