Yeah thats a very informational thread for people who want to start iOS app development.

Not new That name was the brainchild of Bikey some years back. Has stuck since then.

Strange. Even my firm uses websense but it is not blocked. Can you mention the category under which it is blocked? Will try to fix something accordingly.

TE looks way better than that site. And why make another site and split TE's audience. Doesnt make sense.

The sense was explained in the first post. The aim is not to split the TE audience, rather build on it. Both the forums have a different vision. Why else do you need a separate forum for gamers or broadband users when there is TE which has everything.

There are many dedicated forums on topics which are being catered by TE, does that stop the TE members from coming back to TE? Its not as if the mobile phone and general portables section are getting closed.

Its a personal choice.

Too lazy. Don't want to fill sign-up form unless absolutely necessary.

Sign up form just requires 4-5 fields. Its pretty simple. The forum solution and the databases are different and as such no effort was made to import the TE userbase. Though that was a possible and cumbersome option.

Not really except that both have brown as the base color. The idea was keep brown and lime green as the base color, rest everything is default. Nevertheless thanks for pointing out, XDA has a good theme which can be a source of inspiration when in doubt.
