After a long time of rumors and anticipation, Android 5.1 Lollipop was released officially by Google today, making the announcement on their blog:

They haven't released much details about the release, except for new features. Hope to see the list of changes in Android 5.1 soon, in coming days.

The rollout will begin from today.

Factory images for Android 5.1 have been made available for Nexus 5, Nexus 7 (Wifi), and Nexus 10. So, those who want to flash their devices manually, can do so.

Had been waiting for Android 5.1 from a long time. It might be a while until it starts to roll out in India. Hope it happens soon.

Already using 5.1 on N5 since the day images were posted. I flashed image so I dont know about OTA .
U can always flash OTA manually.

I will wait for OTA update, do not want to flash manually.

How is your Nexus 5 performance with Android 5.1? Any issues?
Were you facing any issues prior to updating to 5.1?

I got the Android 5.1 update yesterday. It was a real surprise, because I wasn't expecting it this soon. I thought it would be days before I get it. And I got the latest build which is being talked about on Android sites... LMY47I.

Updated it last night itself, and the phone continues to work without issues as with 5.0.1. All good!

Hey guys!

I'm new here.

Just want to share, i got my update last night on 5.1

I'm using Nexus 5 (red)

All i can say is Nexus devices are great. I cannot tell the improvement of 5.1 from 5.0 much though - maybe because i really love my N5.

:D
