Hi all. I just thought it'd be a good idea to have a single thread where members can get app recommendations for something specific they'd like to achieve, as well as troubleshoot any problems with apps. I know there are a few 'best of' list type threads there, but felt that there's a need for a thread to cater to specific queries. Of course, members are requested to first go through those threads & try out the apps there before you come to this thread. So post away!

-----------------

To start off, I'd like a recommendation for an app which records phone calls [both ends/parties] automatically & saves 'em to the SD card. I'm on the LG P500. The apps I've tried so far include - All call recorder, Auto call recorder, Call recorder, Droid record, Voice recorder. They either are unable to record the full conversation, or the recording gets garbled after some time, or only a 0kb file is created. Also, one of them has probably caused instability [phone freezes during calls & reboots]. So I'd like to know if someone is using some similar app successfully. Thanks!

Since I wanted a messaging app that follows the traditional separate inbox/sent items method of sorting rather than the threaded conversations method which is the norm on Android, I installed SMS Composer. This, I believe, is the only such app. [I'd like to know if there is any other.]

The issue I'm having is that after having made SMS Composer the default messaging app & disabling notifications for the stock messaging app, the latter still registers new messages & displays them on the lock screen. How do I disable this?

To make things clearer, if I receive an sms, SMS Composer notifies me. After having read that sms, if I look to the lock screen, the default/stock app says that I have 1 unread message. I just want to disable this lock screen notification. Thanks.

PS - I'm still seeking a recommendation for the voice recorder btw.

There is no way to disable the default SMS app indicating an unread message. I use SMS composer too and have to open the default sms app even after reading the message in SMS Composer.

For Music: PowerAMP/WinAMP/Mort Player

For Movies: Rock Player Universal

Games: Angry Birds,Shift...

Root it and enable JIT for about 30% speed increase.....

I am looking for compitible app for Samsung Galaxy Ace.which can record both parties conversation. I have tried couple of free apps from market but none of them able to record Remote party's voice.

Any suggestion ?

You need to patch the rom with '2 way recorder patch' for it to work...elese only your voice will be recorded

Using "Go SMS Pro " for the last 1 year and it works rock solid
<
also has the option to stop the default messaging notification (guess this feature is available in all messaging apps these days)

Go SMS Pro is the best messaging app i have used so far.Its on my phone for the last 5months. The best part of the app i liked is its schedule msg feature and auto reply. The themes are cool as well.
